#panamapapers is getting more thrilling and jaw-dropping by the minute.

A Prime Minister gone (Iceland). More resignations to follow.  Headlines have covered the full spectrum of responses, from ‘trust issues’ through to ‘the end of capitalism’.  And we find that it’s all been discussed openly for years (See Bernie Sanders in the Senate 2011)

Amongst the humbug and hand-wringing (keep that picture in mind) nobody seems to have been able to quite fully capture the size and impact of the betrayal.

So now what do we do?

In times of moral despair, I recommend a now elderly book from 2010. Mark Thomas’ The People’s Manifesto.

The mot juste, or perfect policy, for tackling misdemeanours and general impoverishments of ordinary life can always be found within its pages.

That should do it.
